The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has revealed the real name of an armed robbery suspect who has been using the alias “Mambo Dhuterere”.
In a statement issued on Thursday, police identified the suspect as Obert Tinarwo, alias Mambo Dhuterere, who is wanted in connection with a US$108 000 armed robbery at a company in Borders Estate, Ruwa, on September 13, 2026.
Tinarwo is wanted alongside several accomplices, including William Shereni Manase, who was shot and escaped during a shoot-out with police in Unit N, Seke, Chitungwiza, on September 15.
Police recovered a Toyota Vitz, registration number AFF 7478, at the scene.
“The suspect is being sought in connection with an armed robbery incident which occurred at a company at Borders Estate, Ruwa, on 13 September 2026, where USD108 000.00 cash was stolen,” police said.
“Police are pursuing other suspects linked to the robbery incident, who have been using pseudo names, namely Obert Tinarwo, alias Mambo Dhuterere, James Dhlora, alias Kasongo and David Majagada alias Kule Dhivha,” the statement said.
Police warned armed robbery syndicates that there would be no let-up in the crackdown on such crimes.
“The ZRP warns armed robbery syndicates that there is no going back in the fight against armed robbery cases throughout the country,” the statement said.
Police also warned criminals against confronting officers during operations.
“Criminals who choose to confront or engage in a shoot-out with police officers will have themselves to blame and will be dealt with in accordance with the law,” said the statement.
Police appealed to members of the public with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to report at their nearest police station.
