Former Zimbabwe national football team coach Wieslaw Grabowski has died in Poland, with reports indicating that the veteran coach passed away on Wednesday evening after a period of illness.
Grabowski, a respected figure in Zimbabwean football development, is credited with playing a significant role in identifying and nurturing some of the country’s finest football talent.
His scouting and development work helped bring several prominent players into the limelight, among them former Warriors stars Alois Bunjira, Lloyd Chitembwe and Norman Mapeza.
Grabowski’s contribution to Zimbabwean football extended beyond the national team. He was mostly associated with youth development and the identification of emerging talent.
Grabowski had reportedly been battling a heart condition in recent years.
