A bizarre satanic ritual involving raw meat mixed with blood and urine has landed three women from Checheche in Chipinge, Manicaland Province, in court after they allegedly abducted a 24-year-old woman and forced her to undergo an initiation.

The accused, Vinolia Mlambo (21), Primrose Gwenzi (21) and Beatrice Chimingira (24), all from Mabhiza Village under Chief Musikavanhu, appeared before Shurugwi magistrate Tadiwanashe Nyanda facing charges of kidnapping and forcing another person to consume harmful substances.

The trio was remanded in custody pending the production of a medical report.

The State, represented by Matidaishe Pavazvira, alleges that the incident occurred on October 17 at around 4pm when the complainant was travelling to Tongogara Business Centre to have her mobile phone repaired.

The court heard that she encountered the three women along the way, who allegedly took her against her will into a gum-tree plantation.

Once inside the plantation, the accused allegedly told the complainant that they wanted her uterus before detaining and interrogating her until nightfall.

Prosecutors allege that the women subsequently forced her to eat raw meat mixed with blood and urine, claiming that she had undergone a satanic initiation.

The complainant was allegedly abandoned in the plantation after the ordeal and later reported the matter to the police.

Her report triggered a police manhunt that led to the arrest of the three suspects.
