Marshall Munetsi opens up on his return to Warriors squad

Date:

Warriors captain Marshall Munetsi has broken his silence following his return to the national team setup.

Munetsi had been a notable absentee from the Warriors squad in recent assignments, sparking questions about his international future.

His absence came following a reported fallout with former coach Marian Marinica.

Following the appointment of Kaitano Tembo, the midfielder is now back in the national team fold, with his return confirmed in the Warriors squad announced for the upcoming Unity Cup in London.

Speaking to ZIFA media, Munetsi expressed his excitement at rejoining the squad.

“It feels good, it has been a while and I am happy to see my brothers, my teammates,” said Munetsi.

“I think we have the same goal, we have a couple of matches ahead. I’m looking forward to it and representing my country as always.”

Zimbabwe will face Nigeria on 26 May at the The Valley in London in their opening match of the Unity Cup.
