Veteran journalist and former Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) reporter Musorowegomo Mukosi is seeking US$200,000 from Grant Thornton Zimbabwe partner Kundai Francis Tibugare over an alleged affair with his wife, Esther Vimbainashe Mukosi.

Mukosi, through his lawyer Admire Rubaya, has accused Tibugare of engaging in an adulterous relationship with his wife and contributing to the breakdown of their nine-year marriage.

The allegations are contained in a legal demand in which Mukosi claims to have evidence linking the two, including flight schedules, telephone records, cell-tower data and CCTV footage.

According to the claim, the alleged relationship extended beyond Zimbabwe, with Mukosi alleging that Tibugare and his wife travelled together to South Africa between July 15 and 19, 2026, before travelling to Madagascar from September 21 to 24.

The claim alleges that the pair stayed at the Ibis Antananarivo Ankorondrano Hotel in Madagascar, sharing a room during their stay.

Mukosi further alleges that the two regularly met at a property in Cranborne, Harare, while attending studies at the University of Zimbabwe.

The legal demand claims that telephone and cell-tower records are among the evidence Mukosi intends to rely on to establish the pair’s movements and communication.

Mukosi also alleges that his wife told him she was travelling to Tanzania for an accounting consultancy assignment, when she was actually in Madagascar with Tibugare.

Another major allegation concerns a Toyota Fortuner which Mukosi claims Tibugare bought for his wife and personally delivered to their matrimonial home at Crowhill Farm.

The legal claim describes the alleged conduct as having caused serious damage to Mukosi’s marriage and family life, including humiliation and the loss of companionship and support associated with the marital relationship.

Mukosi is demanding US$100,000 for contumelia, relating to alleged injury to his dignity, reputation and privacy, and another US$100,000 for loss of consortium, referring to the loss of the comfort, companionship and services of a spouse.

The claim also alleges that Mukosi’s wife regarded Tibugare as her “soul mate” and that Tibugare’s financial position and professional connections enabled him to pursue the relationship.

Tibugare is a partner at Grant Thornton Zimbabwe and a corporate rescue practitioner at Telecel Zimbabwe.
