Zimbabwe international midfielder Jonah Fabisch has completed his move to South African top-flight side Golden Arrows, bringing an end to weeks of speculation over his next club.
The 24-year-old has been unveiled by the KwaZulu-Natal-based Betway Premiership outfit ahead of the 2026/27 season, with the move coming after his departure from German club FC Erzgebirge Aue.
Fabisch had attracted interest from several South African clubs after arriving in the country last month, with AmaZulu and Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs among the clubs that were linked with the Zimbabwe international.
However, Golden Arrows moved swiftly to secure his services, with reports indicating that the midfielder had agreed personal terms with the club.
His arrival at Golden Arrows represents another important step in a career that has seen him develop in Germany before establishing himself in the Zimbabwe national team.
Fabisch previously came through the youth system at Hamburger SV before playing for Hamburger SV II and later 1. FC Magdeburg II. He subsequently joined Erzgebirge Aue, where he featured in Germany’s 3. Liga.
Although eligible to represent Germany, Fabisch chose Zimbabwe at international level through his mother’s heritage.
The midfielder has become an increasingly familiar figure in the Warriors setup.
He gained significant attention during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where he started all three of Zimbabwe’s group-stage matches against Egypt, Angola and South Africa.
He made his senior international debut for Zimbabwe in 2021 and was part of the squad that competed at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Durban-based club will hope the midfielder can add creativity and technical quality to their midfield as they prepare for the new Betway Premiership campaign.
For Fabisch, the move provides an opportunity to secure regular top-flight football in South Africa while strengthening his claim for a more prominent role in the Zimbabwe national team.
