Zimbabwe Warriors defender Jordan Zemura has completed a transfer to English Championship side Watford, ending his three-year stay in Italy with Serie A club Udinese.
The 26-year-old left-back returns to English football as Watford continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the 2026/27 Championship campaign, with promotion back to the Premier League the club’s primary objective.
Zemura made his name in England after progressing through the ranks at AFC Bournemouth, where he featured in both the Championship and the Premier League before joining Udinese on a free transfer in 2023.
During his time in Italy, the Zimbabwe international established himself as a regular in Udinese’s first team, making more than 60 Serie A appearances. He earned a reputation for his energetic attacking runs down the left flank while maintaining defensive solidity.
Watford sporting director Luke Dowling confirmed Zemura’s arrival alongside fellow Udinese recruits Martín Payero and Iker Bravo as the club reshapes its squad for the new season.
The Hornets believe Zemura’s experience in both the Premier League and Serie A, coupled with his international pedigree with Zimbabwe, will strengthen their defence as they pursue a return to England’s top flight.
For Zimbabwe, the move ensures one of the Warriors’ key defenders remains in a highly competitive league, providing valuable top-level experience ahead of upcoming international assignments. Zemura has become an integral part of the national team and is expected to play a leading role as Zimbabwe prepares for future continental and World Cup qualifying campaigns.
