The wife and two daughters of alleged UK triple murder suspect Ndodana Mkhayisi Tshuma died from blunt force trauma, according to post-mortem results released on Monday.
The findings were made after the bodies of Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, and her daughters, Natalie, 15, and Nala, 5, were discovered at their home in Great Denham, Bedfordshire, on July 6.
According to reports , forensic pathologists determined that all three victims died from blunt force trauma. The examinations were conducted under the direction of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit.
Tshuma, who is also known as Mark, appeared before the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court on Monday on a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm following his arrest in South Africa last Friday.
South African police allege that shortly after arriving in the country, Tshuma purchased an unlicensed 9mm pistol and two rounds of ammunition. He has been remanded in custody until July 22 while facing charges relating to the illegal possession of a firearm.
South African authorities have confirmed they have received a provisional extradition request from the United Kingdom and are awaiting the full case file before extradition proceedings can begin.
British prosecutors have authorised three counts of murder against Tshuma, who is the prime suspect in the deaths of his wife and two daughters.
Investigators say Tshuma boarded a flight from London’s Heathrow Airport to Dubai on July 4, two days before the bodies were discovered at the family’s home in Bedfordshire.
The murder investigation remains ongoing as UK authorities continue working with their South African counterparts on the extradition process.
