The third annual Zimbabwe Real Estate and Construction Summit opened at The Exchange at Newlands Country Club on Wednesday, bringing together property developers, financiers, engineers and other industry stakeholders to discuss funding for large-scale projects.
The four-day summit is focusing on ways to improve access to capital through structured partnerships, alternative mortgage financing and asset-backed funding models.
Speaking at the opening of the summit, chief executive officer Kudzai Mukuku highlighted the need for stronger collaboration between financial institutions and players in the property and construction sectors.
The discussions come as the industry seeks solutions to funding constraints affecting property development, infrastructure expansion and industrial projects.
Participants are expected to explore financing arrangements that can help mobilise institutional investment for commercial real estate and other major developments.
Key issues include transparency in investment transactions, currency convertibility and predictable regulatory frameworks, which remain important considerations for investors assessing opportunities in Zimbabwe.
The summit will also provide a platform for business-to-business engagements aimed at connecting project developers with potential financiers and investment partners.
Discussions over the four days are expected to examine how structured financing and partnerships can support growth in Zimbabwe’s real estate and construction industries.
