Businessman Wicknell Chivayo and his wife, Lucy Muteke-Chivayo, are expected to be laid to rest at Glen Forest Memorial Park in Harare on Thursday.
According to family, the couple’s burial is scheduled for 2pm, as funeral arrangements continue following their deaths in a helicopter crash in Marondera Rural on Wednesday.
Chivayo and his wife were among those killed when the helicopter they were travelling in crashed at Kudenga Farm while returning towards Harare.
Their deaths have prompted an outpouring of condolences from political leaders, business figures, musicians and members of the public in Zimbabwe and beyond.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa visited the Chivayo family home in Gletwyn, Harare, on Friday to offer his condolences, describing the tragedy as one that had left the nation “numbed” and in shock.
Chivayo, who hailed from Mashonaland East Province, has since been granted Provincial Hero status.
