The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed that an aircraft carrying six people crashed in Marondera Rural on Wednesday evening.
Police said the crash occurred at around 5pm and that the scene is currently being attended.
“The ZRP confirms a plane crash in Marondera Rural area at 1700 hours, this evening. The aircraft had 6 occupants,” police said in an initial statement.
“More details will be released in due course as the scene is currently being attended.”
Police have not yet disclosed the identities or condition of the six occupants, the type of aircraft involved, or the circumstances surrounding the crash.
