Zimbabwe international Jordan Zemura suffered another injury setback at the weekend after being forced off during Watford’s 2-1 defeat to Stoke City in the English Championship.

Zemura started the match but was substituted in the 42nd minute after picking up an injury, raising concerns over his fitness after he had only recently returned from another knock sustained the previous weekend.

The setback comes as a blow for the left-back, who had been working his way back into regular action for Watford.

In the same division, Warriors midfielder Marshall Munetsi featured for Wolverhampton Wanderers as they secured a 1-0 away victory over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Sunday.

Munetsi played 63 minutes in Wolves’ win, while fellow Zimbabwean Tawanda Chirewa was not included in the matchday squad.

In England’s League One, Andy Rinomhota started for Reading but could not inspire his side to victory as they fell 2-1 at home. The midfielder was substituted in the closing stages of the match.

In Greece, Marvelous Nakamba came off the bench at half-time as Panetolikos suffered a 3-0 defeat to Panathinaikos in the Greek Super League.

Fellow Warriors forward Tinotenda Kadewere also featured in the Greek top flight, starting for Aris in their clash against PAOK.

In Belgium, winger Bill Antonio came on as a substitute for KV Mechelen in their 1-0 defeat to Anderlecht on Friday.

The performances and fitness of the players abroad remain closely watched as Zimbabwe continues to rely on its foreign-based players for national-team assignments.

Zemura’s latest injury will, in particular, be a concern, given his recent return from a previous knock.
