A 39-year-old man has been mauled to death by dogs at an open ground in Eiffel Flats, Kadoma, prompting police to renew calls for dog owners to properly secure their animals.
“The ZRP is investigating a case in which a 39-year-old man was mauled to death by dogs at an open ground near Plot 104, Sabonabona, Eiffel Flats, Kadoma on 22/08/26 at around 1900 hours,” police said.
“The victim’s body was later discovered at the scene, naked with clothes torn apart and with multiple dog-bite injuries.”
Police urged dog owners to ensure their animals are kept under control and comply with regulations governing the keeping of dogs.
“The ZRP urges dog owners to ensure that their dogs are properly secured at all times and to comply with relevant local authority by-laws governing the keeping and control of dogs,” police said.

The Kadoma death follows other fatal dog attacks recorded around the country.
In June 2025, 39-year-old Samuel Machara was mauled to death by pit bulls in Bluff Hill, Harare. Police subsequently arrested the dogs’ owner, Mike Mupinga, on allegations of culpable homicide.
A month later, nine-year-old Shelton Panganai was killed by four dogs at Bornvalley Farm in Darwendale while playing football with other children. Police said the dogs had escaped from their owner’s residence before chasing the children.
The latest Kadoma incident adds to concerns over the control of potentially dangerous dogs, with police again placing responsibility on owners to prevent their animals from posing a threat to members of the public.
